New Year Resolutions – they’re usually set at the end of every year in aim to make the new year a more positive one. A fresh start.
At one point everyone has set themselves a list of goals to achieve when that brand new year comes around… yet pretty much everyone has broken at least one.
Miranda, Neal & Blake will talk about resolutions on ‘Stay Tuned’ Wednesday night (6:00pm AWST).
Time Magazine actually compiled a list of the resolutions most often broken each year:
- Lose weight and get fit
- Quit smoking
- Learn something new
- Eat healthier and diet
- Get out of debt and save money
- Spend more time with family
- Travel to new places
- Be less stressed
- Drink less
Do you recognise any of these? Are you guilty of breaking any?
Once in a while, when the moon shines a colour mankind hasn’t discovered yet, we do stick to our goals. According to our quick Internet research, only 8% of people achieve at least one of the goals.
New Year Resolutions tend to be taken seriously, with the people who actually set themselves goals working with all their might to stick to them for as long as possible. However, much to our entertainment, the Internet shines light to those who set themselves the most unusual resolutions:
- To win the Spanish or Canadian lottery without buying a ticket
- To stop making new years resolutions
- Teach my dog to do jigsaw puzzles
What are some strange ones you’ve heard or seen?
